What kind of work do we do here?

The House of Higher Healing is a holistic healthcare practice that offers a variety of massage modalities and energy healing.

Here, everything we do is a team effort. The business itself is a one-woman-show, but I say 'we' because you and I will be working together to find ways to improve your health and wellness. We take a look at each person, individually. We focus on your strengths, your weaknesses, your passions, and your quirks; we do our best to find any area(s) of your body that might need some extra love and attention, and what is the most effective way to go about that.

Meet Jessica

Hello, everyone! Thank you for taking the time to care for your body; I know it isn't always easy, which is why I'm here.

My name is Jessica, I was born and raised here in Jax, and currently live near the beaches with my daughter and our two kitties, Sokka and Katara. We love spending time outside, especially at the beach, on nature trails, and camping trips. Making art of any kind is a favorite hobby of mine, along with live music, reading, thrifting, board games, card games, yoga, running, weight lifting, and always, always, always learning!

My journey with massage therapy began early on in my life as I dealt with a great deal of bodily dysfunction and pain from a severe case of scoliosis. Eventually, I found a practitioner who actually made a difference in the way I was feeling, and that's when I knew I was meant for this field. Then I started practicing yoga and educated, conscious strength training, and my scoliosis was completely rectified. This knowledge translates to arguably any and all dysfunctions that one might experience, and it is my life's work to share my findings with the world.

I've been practicing massage therapy for over 5 years and never cease to further my understanding of the human body, with a large focus on balance and alignment in all aspects. Some of the various studies I've found a passion for include kinesiology, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial therapy, cupping therapy, and more. Most recently, I've acquired my certification in Reiki healing.

After seeing multiple massage therapists, you'll find that each one has a particular style. If you asked me to describe mine, I would say that I focus on relaxation, ensuring that your mind, body, and soul feel safe in my presence, while making sure to be thorough and attentive so I can address the root cause of your discomfort. I do my best to meet everyone where they are at and encourage healthy habits that will improve your well-being.

The work I do is very much a team effort. First and foremost, we need to trust each other. This allows your body to reach the level of relaxation needed for true healing of the muscles and nervous system. I also need you to feel the inclination to do better for yourself. I can give you a million amazing massages, but after a certain point, they will not benefit you in any way if you are not putting in the same effort on your end. Rest assured, I will be assigning homework and giving tips and tricks - I'll never make you feel guilty, but I will hold you accountable.

Every body is different, and each one requires a unique path towards a pain-free existence. I've dedicated myself to learning and understanding the human body, and it is truly such an honor and a pleasure to help you along your journey in any way I can.
